TMS THERAPY MDD INDICATION
Greenbrook offers NeuroStar Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy which is FDA-cleared and non-invasive. The NeuroStar TMS Advanced Therapy System is indicated for the treatment of depressive episodes and for decreasing anxiety symptoms for those who may exhibit comorbid anxiety symptoms in adult patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and who failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from previous antidepressant medication treatment in the current episode.
TYPICAL INSURANCE CRITERIA*
- MDD Diagnosis
- 2 or more medication trials
WHO MAY BE A CANDIDATE?
- Patients unsatisfied with the results from antidepressants
- Patients who have responded to medication, but continue to have some persistent symptoms
- Those who cannot tolerate medication side effects
- Those who wish to avoid antidepressants and/or augmentors
- Someone diagnosed with MDD. Not FDA-cleared for Bipolar Depression, Schizoaffective Disorder, or Schizophrenia
POTENTIAL CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Metallic implants in the head/neck (exception: braces & dental fillings)
- History of seizure disorder
- Implanted medical devices, like a pacemaker
